Men's Golf Improves To 18th At TheTaylor Made

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - The No. 12 San Diego State men's golf team passed five teams and improved to 18th place after the second round of the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii-Hilo.

The Aztecs scored a 309 on today's second round, 27 less than yesterday. They scored a 336 in the first round and have a two round total of 645. They are tied with Rhode Island. Texas continues to lead the field with a 612 (302-310).

SDSU sophomore Lars Johansson, who leads the Aztecs, jumped from 37th to 35th place with a158 (81-77). Junior John Lepk jumped from 94th to 58th to have the next best Aztec finish along with senior Ryan Donovan at 163. Matt Brost of Texas and Scott Miller of BYU lead the individual field with a 147.

Saturday's final round will be played at the Kings' Course with a 7 a.m. shotgun start.
