San Diego State's women's golf team will be hosting the 2001 Aztec Invitational at Barona Creek Country Club, Feb. 12-13.
The tournament is a two-day, 36-hole event. Barona Creek is a 6,140-yard, par-72 course. Eighteen holes will be played each day of competition, beginning with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
A highly competitive field of 17 teams will compete in the event, including nine teams ranked in Golfweek magazine's top 100. No. 17 Kent State is the top-ranked team in the field. San Diego State is ranked 50th. The field includes:

Aztec Competitors
SDSU is fielding two teams (Red and Black) to compete in the event. The red team, the team's top five qualifiers, will consist of senior captain Jo Clingan, junior captain Heather Rollo, junior Asa Jankler, freshman Sandy Kim and sophomore Claire Riley. The black team will consist of junior Annegret Horsch, freshman Shayna Miyajima, sophomore Lauren McHugh and junior Brooke Marshall.
Clingan is the top ranked individual competing next week's invitational. She is ranked 50th according to Golfweek. The next hightest ranked competitor is No. 65 Kim Benedict of Michigan.
