SAN DIEGO (AP) - Randy Holcomb scored 16 points as San Diego State defeated Air Force 67-43 Saturday, ending a 17-game Mountain West Conference losing streak.
The Aztecs were 0-14 in the first season of conference play and started 0-3 this year. San Diego State (11-6, 1-3 MWC) lost in three overtimes to Air Force a year ago.
The victory was the 200th for Aztecs coach Steve Fisher, who got 184 of those wins in nine seasons as the coach at Michigan.
The 24-point win was San Diego State's largest margin of victory in conference play since 1983, when the Aztecs beat Air Force (5-11, 0-3), when both teams were in the Western Athletic Conference.
Air Force could not overcome cold shooting, which began with a 1-for-11 start and ended 13-of-51 (25.5 percent). The Falcons were just 7-of-35 from 3-point range.
Karlo Kovacic and Myron Epps each finished with 11 points for San Diego State, which led 28-14 at halftime.
The Falcons, who were just 4-of-23 from the floor in the first half, were led by Jarvis Croff's 14 points. Lamoni Yazzie, who was held scoreless in the first half, added 13 points.
