SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team defeated UC Irvine today, 1-0, on the SDSU Sports Deck. The game-winner came on an own goal when Ralph Dartt's long throw-in was headed into the net by an Anteaters' defender.
The victory improves the Aztecs' record to 6-11-1, (2-4-1 in the MPSF). SDSU's sophomore goalkeeper Brian Barnes recorded five saves raising his MPSF Pacific Division lead in goalie saves with 85. He is now tied for third on the SDSU season saves list and need five more in the Aztecs' final game at USD on Tuesday to set a new school record.
San Diego State will play its last match of the season when they take on cross-town rival University of San Diego on Tuesday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m.
