SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team lost to Cal State Fullerton today 1-0 on the SDSU Sports Deck. SDSU's record drops to 4-8-0 (0-1 in the MPSF).
The Titans scored the game-winning goal at 69:58 when sophomore forward Brent Whitfield knocked in the point blank shot off an assist from senior midfielder Ricky Melendez. Fullerton's record improves to 7-4-0.
Although sophomore goalkeeper Brian Barnes managed to make four difficult saves, he was unable to hold off the Titans' attack as Fullerton recorded 18 total shots.
The Aztecs continue Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play next week when they travel to San Luis Obispo to face Cal Poly SLO on Friday, Oct. 13.
