LAKE SAN MARCOS, Calif.- The San Diego State women's golf team turned in the best score of the day, 304, allowing them to finish third in the SDSU Fall Classic with a three-round total of 936.
The Aztecs passed up regional rival, Northern Arizona, by one stroke, but were unable to catch Colorado State which finished second (935). UCLA won the classic with a score of 905 (299-298-308).
SDSU's Asa Jankler had the lowest individual round of the day, scoring a 72. Jankler jumped from 14th place after the second round to finish fourth with a score of 229 (78-79-72). The next best San Diego State finish was 12th by Sandy Kim
Claire Riley of San Diego State, competing as an individual also finished 12th.
Johanna Anderson of UCLA won the individual competition scoring a 223 (68-78-77). Her teammates, Leilani Bagby and Melissa Martin, tied for second.
The Aztecs next compete at the Wahine Fall Golf Classic in Oahu, Hawaii, Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
