SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's Enrique Toivar scored his fourth goal of the season with 16 minutes remaining as the Aztecs and UC Santa Barbara finished in a 1-1 deadlock through two periods of overtimeSunday afternoon at the Gauchos' home field.

UCSB (6-9-1) got on the scoreboard first when Thiago Martin converted a penalty kick in the 18th minute. But San Diego State (4-10-1) knotted the score when Tovar took a pass from freshman Ronnie Silva and slipped it into the net.

The game was an even affair with the Gauchos edging SDSU in shots by an 18-15 margin. Aztec goalkeeper Brian Barnes continued his assault on the SDSU record book as he recored five saves on the day. That number was matched by UCSB's netminder Erik Stolhandske.

San Diego State wraps up its current run of four road contests when it visits New Mexico this Friday (Oct. 27). The Aztecs return home on Sunday, Oct. 29, to face MPSF rival UNLV at 1:00 p.m. at the SDSU Sports Deck.
