SAN LUIS OBISPO - The San Diego State men's soccer team (4-9, 0-2 in the MPSF) lost to Cal Poly SLO, 2-1, in overtime on Friday. The Mustangs scored the game-winning goal at 91:21 improving their record to 4-7-1 (2-1 in the MPSF).
The Aztecs scored the first goal of the match at 65:00 when sophomore midfielder John Zarick dumped a shot over the goalkeeper off an assist from freshman forward Mike Klotovich and junior midfielder Enrique Tovar. Cal Poly answered back at 67:08 when junior forward Johnny Cummins tied the match off an assist from sophomore forward Cory Pasek.
SDSU sophomore goalkeeper Brian Barnes played the entire match saving seven shots. Barnes is currently ranked first in the MPSF Pacific Division in saves.
The Aztecs' next match will be on Friday, Oct. 20, at 7:00 p.m. when they travel north to take on the Matadors of Cal State Northridge.
