SAN DIEGO - In a game dripping with seeding implications for the upcoming Mountain West Conference tournament, the San Diego State women's soccer team fell to No. 17 Brigham Young, 4-0 in Provo on Thursday.
The Aztecs (5-10-0 overall, 2-1 MWC) struggled all game long and were outshot by the Cougars (11-3-1 overall, 3-0 MWC), 27-5.
BYU's Jennie Christianson led the Cougar charge, scoring two goals in the game, while freshman Aleisha Cramer added a goal and an assist for BYU. Michelle Peterson rounded out the scoring for the Cougars when she scored her 14th goal of the season, a figure which leads the Mountain West.
The loss snaps a modest two-game winning streak for the Aztecs. SDSU looks to bounce back when it plays Utah at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
