SDSU Men Finish Strong At Pepperdine

SOMIS, Calif. - The San Diego State men's golf team recorded the best round of the day, a 293, and moved from seventh place to a final position of second at the Pepperdine Intercollegiate in Somis, Calif.

San Diego State finished with a three-round total of 888, nine shots behind champion and 11th-ranked (Mastercard rankings) New Mexico. SDSU did finish ahead of No. 25 Pepperdine. SDSU is unranked in the Mastercard rankings, but is sixth in Golfweek magazine's poll.

Individually, SDSU's Lars Johansson carded a 72 on Tuesday and finished second overall with a 217, one shot in back of medalist Rob Kortan of New Mexico.
