PORTLAND - The San Diego State men's soccer team lost to the University of Washington 3-0 in the opening game of the adidas Portland Invitational on Saturday. The Aztecs managed just four shots, three on goal, as SDSU's record dropped to 1-2-0.
Washington's Kai Carroll put the Huskies on the board at 52:03 off a lead from defender Aaron Heinzen. Midfielder Benjamin Somoza finished off the day with a pair of second-half goals with the first coming at 56:06 off an assist from forward Greg Foisle and the second on a penalty kick at 69:52.
The Red and Black will take on the host team and fifth-ranked University of Portland on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
