SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team opened the 2000 season with a victory over the Hawks of Christian Heritage College Friday at the SDSU Sports Deck. SDSU scored three times in the first half on their way to a 5-0 win.
The Aztecs scored their first goal at 75:10 on a free kick by freshman midfielder Carlos Menjivar. Menjivar later assisted on SDSU's second goal by freshman defender Ryan Curtis at 60:10. Freshman forward Mike Klotovich scored an unassisted goal with just over a minute remaining in the first half (46:15). Senior midfielders Brett Lasby and Matt Williams each capped off the afternoon with goals at 40:37 (assist by senior midfielder Milton Economy) and 19:25 (unassisted).
The Red and Black travel north to take on the UCLA Bruins on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
