Women's Soccer Falls to No. 25 James Madison

SAN DIEGO - After starting the weekend with a thrilling 2-1 win over Navy on Friday, the San Diego State women's soccer team lost to 25th-ranked James Madison, 2-0 in Berkeley on Sunday.

The Aztecs (2-2 overall) outshot the Dukes, 17-7, but were unable to capitalize on the opportunities which arose.

JMU's Beth Burgess opened the scoring in the first half, while teammate Marissa Lemme put the game away with a goal late in the game. James Madison goalkeeper Suzanne Wilson was red-carded in the 78th minute after coming out and committing a dangerous play, but SDSU was unable to score on freshman backup Allison Stevens.

The Aztecs return to action at 7:30 p.m. on Friday when they travel to Indiana. SDSU and IU have met only once in the past, with the Aztecs claiming a 3-1 win over the Hoosiers in 1997.
