Volleyball Defeats Kent State 3-1

San Diego - San Diego State improved to 2-0 at the Cornell Invitational, defeating Kent State 3-1 in its first match of the day on Saturday, September 16. The victory improved the Aztecs to 4-6 on the season while the Golden Flashes fell to 3-6.

After winning the first two games by scores of 15-8 and 15-2, the Aztecs fell in game three 15-9, However, they came back to take the deciding fourth game 15-12.

Three SDSU players finished with 10 kills apiece including senior Monet Solberg along with freshmen Aspen McPartland and Zlatina Anguelova. The trio also combined for a hitting percentage of .390 for the match.

Senior Erin Grady led the Aztec blockers with six while Anguelova contributed four.

San Diego State will conclude tournament action when it takes on host Cornell at 7:00 p.m. (EST)
