Volleyball Defeats Northeastern 3-0

San Diego - San Diego state got off to a good start at the Cornell Invitational Friday afternoon, taking just over an hour to defeat Northeastern three games to none. The Aztecs (3-6) were victorious over the Huskies (0-7) by game scores of 1509, 15-11 and 15-2.

No SDSU player reached double figures in kills, with freshman Aspen McPartland turning in a team-high nine for the match. The Aztecs' most effective hitter was junior Jessica Allen who turned in an errorless performance with a .500 hitting percentage to go along with her four digs and single service ace.

San Diego State's senior starters Amy Hallquist and Erin Grady also continued to play well, with Hallquist getting a team-high 14 digs and Grady an Aztec-best four blocks.

SDSU continues action at the Cornell Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16, with a match against Kent State at 10:00 a.m. (EST) followed by the tournament finale against the host team (Cornell) at 7:00 p.m. (EST).
