SAN DIEGO - Junior forward Nicole Findlay earned Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals against Mississippi in San Diego State's season-opening 2-1 win on Friday.
Although these were her first two goals as an Aztec and the first award she has received while at SDSU, she is no stranger to scoring or honors. The Fairfield, Calif., native established the record for career goals at Santa Rosa JC. In her two years there, Findlay scored 62 goals and was a two-time Junior College All-American.
Her two-goal game was the Aztecs' first since Elicia Petre scored twice against Air Force in the opening round of the MWC Tournament last season.
