SDSU's Stone Set to Run at NCAAs

May 31, 2000

Four the fourth straight year, the San Diego State women's track and field program is sending an athlete to the NCAA Championships to compete in the 100-meter hurdles. However, for the first time it won't be Aztec legend and two-time All-American Miesha McKelvy lining up in the blocks.

Senior Felicia Stone, who ran the third-fastest SDSU time ever in the 100-meter hurdles this season -- a 13.21 at the Modesto Relays on May 13 -- will begin her quest for a 100-meter title on Thursday, June 1 at 3:20 p.m. (PDT) in preliminary heats of the 2000 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Duke University in Duraham, N.C.

Stone, the 2000 Mountain West Conference runner-up in the 100 hurdles, posted nine provisional qualification times this season. She also tallied four 100-meter hurdle wins.
