COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State softball players Sandra Durazo, Sarah Hershman and Kellie Nordhagen were named to the 2000 All-Mountain West Conference Team as selected by league coaches.
Durazo, a native of Granada Hills, Calif. (Kennedy H.S.), was one of five pitchers to earn the honor. The junior posted a 2.15 earned run average in 44 games. She set the school record for wins in a season with 25 and became SDSU's all-time winningest pitcher on April 16th, in the Aztecs' 3-2 win over Colorado State. Her career record at SDSU now stands at 57-38.
Hershman, a second baseman, had a solid offensive campaign for the Aztecs. The sophomore from San Diego (Mt. Carmel H.S.) batted .339 and led the team with 30 RBI and 16 stolen bases and tied for tops with four home runs.
Nordhagen, a center fielder from Valencia, Calif. (Hart H.S.), was the Aztecs' top offensive producer this season. The sophomore set four SDSU single-season records including batting average (.391), runs (40), hits (81) doubles (14) and total bases (102).
Durazo, Hershman and Nordhagen were three of twenty members of the 2000 All-MWC squad.
