The San Diego State men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0( 17-15, 15-11, 15-6) decision to second-ranked Long Beach State Friday night at Peterson Gym. The match also marks the last home contest for the SDSU men's volleyball program.
On senior night the Aztecs were led by Mike Szymanski who tallied a team-high 18 kills. Sophomore Mike DeRaffaele added 15 kills and a team-high .400 overall hitting percentage. Senior Mike Koch finished with 14 kills. The Aztecs record falls to 4-17 overall and 2-16 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
Long Beach State was led by Neil Mason with a match-high 20 kills. David McKienzie collected 16 kills and Matt Prosser added 14 kills en route to the win. Long Beach State's record improves to 21-3 overall and 14-2 MPSF.
The Aztec's close out the season on Tuesday, April 11, against cross-town rival UCSD. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at UCSD.
