The San Diego State women's crew team finished third in the varsity eight grand final of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships at the CSUS Aquatic Center. The Aztecs raced to a final time of 7:13.2 over 2,000 meters.
Sacramento State won the varsity eight event with a time of 7:00.9. The WIRA Championships includes every rowing institution on the west coast that is not a member of the Pac-10 (a total of 22 schools).
SDSU posted wins in the women's second varsity eight grand final and in the lightweight four grand final. SDSU rowed to a winning time of 7:08.8 followed by UC Davis (7:15.6) and Orange Coast College (7:19.3) in the varsity eight race. In the lightweight four, SDSU breezed to a winning time of 8:23.4, followed by Sacramento State (8:25.2) and UC Davis (8:35.2).
