The sixth-ranked San Diego State women's water polo team lost to No. 2 Stanford, 7-6, Saturday in a MPSF contest held in Palo Alto, Calif.
The Cardinal jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first quarter, but the Aztecs would come back.
With the score 6-3 going into the fourth, SDSU scored three goals, but Stanford would score again to hold on for the win.
San Diego State falls to 7-11, 4-5 MPSF and will next be in action at the MPSF Championships in San Jose, Calif., April 7th-9th.
