Box Score

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State softball team came away with two victories over Brigham Young in the first-ever meeting between the schools Saturday at SDSU Field.

In game one, Tashie Agui?aga went 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored as the Aztecs shut out the Cougars, 4-0.

Pitcher Sandra Durazo allowed only four hits in the game for her third shut out of the year.

In game two, Tiffany Goudy's single in the bottom of the seventh brought home Kellie Nordhagen with the game-winning run to lift the Aztecs over BYU, 5-4.

Nordhagen's run capped a two-run inning which saw the Aztecs reclaim a lead which they lost the previous inning.

The Aztecs entered the seventh down, 4-3. Tami Simpson singled to open the inning. Kellie Nordhagen then tripled to center field, bringing home Simpson. Cougar coach Mary Kay Amicone then chose to intentionally walk the next two Aztecs batters, Kellie Labor and Sarah Hershman. That set the stage for Goudy's heroics.

The Aztecs are now 19-21, 2-2 MWC. BYU drops to 9-14, 1-3 MWC.
