LAS VEGAS (AP) - Erin Thorn had 13 points as BYU cruised to a first round win in the Mountain West Conference women's basketball tournament, 78-37 over San Diego State.
Thorn hit four of seven 3-pointers in a game that saw the Cougars (21-7, 11-4) hit 50 percent of the 22 3-pointers they attempted.
Lisa Osguthorpe, Jennifer Leitner and Stacy Jensen added 11 points apiece for BYU, which led 36-13 at halftime.
BYU moved on to a semifinal game against Colorado State, which beat Wyoming earlier.
San Diego State ended the season 9-19, 4-11 in conference play.
