Aztec Men's Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision To No. 9 Lewis University

SAN DIEGO -

San Diego State fell to ninth rank Lewis University, 3-1(15-10, 5-15, 12-15, 11-15), breaking the Aztecs two match winning streak on Wednesday at Peterson Gym. The Aztecs went up 1-0 after game one, but were unable to hold off the Flyers the rest of the match. SDSU's record now stands at 3-12 overall.

The Aztecs were led by senior outside hitter Mike Szymanski with 29 kills and eight digs. Sophomore middle blocker Mike DeRaffaele contributed 24 kills for the night. Senior setter John Engstrom added 94 assists while chipping seven kills and eight digs.

The Flyers were led by Jorge Alifonso with 24 kills and Eduardo Quinones with 21 kills. Lewis University's record improves to 12-6.

SDSU returns to action on Monday, March 13, when it plays host to Rutgers-University of Newark at Peterson Gym . The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
