The San Diego State women's crew program successfully defended its Parker Cup title today at Mission Bay. The Aztecs swept all three women's events at the Regatta, defeating both Loyola Marymount and UC Irvine.
SDSU took first and second place honors in the women's varsity eight race. San Diego State's "B" squad won the race with a time of 6:57, finishing six seconds ahead of the "A" squad.
The Aztecs posted a victory in the women's varsity four, racing to a time of 8:04, while UC Irvine placed second at 8:16. The sweep was completed when SDSU won the women's novice eight race. The Aztecs raced to an overall time of 7:23, finishing 14 seconds ahead of UC Irvine.
SDSU returns to action on Saturday (March 11), when the face the University of North Carolina in a dual meet at Mission Bay. The meet is schedule to begin at 7:00 a.m.
