Box Score

SAN DIEGO - In game two, San Diego State took a 2-0 advantage in the first when Kellie Nordhagen scored on a Sarah Hershman hit and Alexis Gutierrez came home on an error by Irish shortstop Melanie Alkire.

The teams would exchange runs in the third and fourth innings, but things fell apart in the fifth for the Aztecs. Durazo came in for relief of Tiffany Goudy with no outs and two runners on base in the top of the fifth. Jennifer Kriech singled to load the bases, and Alkire smashed a home run to left field to put the Irish ahead.

Notre Dame would go on to add six runs in the sixth, but SDSU did not have an answer for the Irish pitchers. The game ended after six innings because of the NCAA's eight-run rule.

The Aztecs will face Iowa in a single contest Tuesday, March 14th, at 1:00 pm at SDSU.
