Durazo Throws One-Hitter

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State softball team (10-13) won both games of a doubleheader with Southern Utah (2-15) Saturday afternoon at SDSU Field.

In the first contest, junior pitcher Sandra Durazo (6-3) hurled the second one-hitter of her career in a 5-0 Aztec victory. The Granada Hills, Calif., native struck out nine and walked one while facing 25 batters. Thunderbird center fielder Wendy Haramoto was the only player to get a hit when she singled in the top of the sixth inning.

Offensively, San Diego State hitters enjoyed success at the plate. In only her third start of the season, sophomore right fielder Kristal Montgomery went 2-3 and scored a run. Sophomore second baseman Sarah Hershman got an RBI and scored a run on 2-3 hitting.
