NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - It only took four and one-half innings for second-ranked Washington to defeat San Diego State by a score of 10-0 in first-day action at the CSU Northridge Matador Invitational.
Aztec pitchers Sandra Durazo and Tiffany Goudy could do little as the Huskies batting lineup went 10-22 in four innings at the plate. San Diego State's offense was not as effective, stranding six runners over the course of the game.
The loss dropped Durazo, a junior, to 0-3 on the season, a position she has not been in since arriving on Montezuma Mesa .
The Aztecs look to redeem themselves vs. CSU Northridge in the following game.
