Aztec Men's Volleyball Falls To Stanford

San Diego State dropped a 3-1 decision to Stanford in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Friday night at Peterson Gym. The Aztecs came back after losing the first game, but were unable to hold off the Cardinal. SDSU's record is now 1-7 (0-7 MPSF).

The Aztec's were led by senior outside hitter Mike Szymanski with a season-high 31 kills. Senior middle blocker Sean Mackin added 27 kills and senior outside hitter Mike Koch had 21 kills with a team-high hitting percentage of .630. Senior setter John Engstrom had a season-high 96 assists on the night.

Stanford was led by Curt Toppel with 48 kills and an overall hitting percentage of .526. Setter Josh Lukens added 89 assists. Stanford's record now stands at 3-6 (3-4 MPSF).

The Aztecs return to action on Wednesday, February 16, at UCLA. The next home match will be Friday, February 18, against UC Irvine. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Peterson Gym.
