SAN DIEGO (AP) - Brandon Campbell scored 20 points and Dan Thompson added 16 as Cal State Fullerton downed San Diego State 72-66 Wednesday night.
Ike Harmon added 15 points for the Titans (5-5), who won their fourth straight.
They built a 13-point lead in the first half, then withstood a second-half rally by the Aztecs (5-7).
San Diego State took its first lead of the second half at 58-57 on a 3-point basket by Bradley Jackson with 4:34 remaining. However, Thompson, a 6-foot-6 forward from Australia, made a pair of free throws to put Cal Fullerton back in front, 59-58.
After the Aztecs regained the lead on a basket by Vincent Okotie, the Titans outscored San Diego State 13-6 over the final 3:26.
Campbell, who hit 8-of-11 from the field, began that final run with a 3-point play. Mark Murphy came up with a crucial steal on Myron Epps and made the Titans' final four free throws.
Epps led San Diego State with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Marcelo Correa and Okotie each had 13 points.
Okotie helped fuel the Aztecs' second-half comeback, scoring all his 13 points in the final 20 minutes.
Harmon, in addition to his 15 points, had eight rebounds for the Titans before fouling out with 6:10 left.
