Air Force Outlasts San Diego State In Triple Overtime

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Miguel Garcia's baseline jumper with 7.2 seconds left in triple overtime carried Air Force to an 81-77 victory over San Diego State Thursday in Mountain West Conference action.

Lawrence Yazzie came up with a steal on a San Diego State in-bounds play, was fouled and scored two free throws with 2.7 seconds to go to seal the win.

The San Diego State Aztecs (5-10, 0-2) have lost four in a row.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Air Force (5-9, 1-1 MWC), which missed the last shots in regulation and first and second overtime periods.

Marcelo Correa scored San Diego State's first five points in the third overtime as the Aztecs took a 75-72 lead with 2:44 to play.

After the Falcons' Vernard Jenkins tied the game with three-pointer, Vincent Okotie put the Aztecs back ahead with a 16-foot jumper.

A reverse layup by Air Force guard Jarvis Croff, who had 25 points, knotted the game 77-77 with 1:02 left.

Garcia's jumper put Air Force up 79-77. Garcia had 11 points, 19 rebounds.

Myron Epps led San Diego State with 27 points, but suffered cramps in the third overtime and had to leave the game.

Okotie and Micheal Marion each had 10 points for the Aztecs while Correa and Wilson had eight points apiece
