SAN DIEGO (AP) - Andre Laws scored 18 points, including 12 in a row during a key second-half stretch, to lift San Diego to a 73-45 win over San Diego State Saturday night.
Laws sparked the Toreros with 12 consecutive points as they took a 47-35 lead with 10:30 left in the game.
The Toreros then went on a 16-3 run, using three 3-pointers to ice the game. San Diego hit seven of 13 3-pointers in the second half.
San Diego (4-2) rebounded from shooting just 30.8 percent in the first half. The Toreros, who led 27-25 at halftime, improved to 53.8 shooting in the second half.
David Abramowitz led San Diego State (1-2) with 11 points. Marcelo Correa, the Aztecs' leading scorer at 16 points per game, was held to nine points and didn't score in the second half before fouling out with 8:30 left.
The Aztecs had trouble shooting, making just 29 percent from the floor (18-of-62), including 7-for-31 in the second half.
Laws finished making four of six 3-pointers and hit all four free throws. Cameron Rigby scored 15 points and had nine rebounds for San Diego, which outrebounded San Diego State 52-31. Dana White added 13 points.
San Diego, which has beaten the Aztecs in nine of the last 11 games, registered the largest winning margin in the 31 games between the crosstown rivals.
