Trojans Too Much For San Diego State, 87-54

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Brandon Granville scored a career-high 24 points and keyed a decisive 19-3 run in the second half to lead Southern California to an 87-54 win over San Diego State on Monday.

USC (5-5), which led 38-32 at halftime, pulled away in the opening seven minutes of the second half as Granville scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers, to give the Trojans a 57-35 lead.

Brian Scalabrine added 21 points, 11 rebounds, four assist and three steals for USC, and Sam Clancy had 18.

Jeffrey Berokoff's 11 points off the bench led San Diego State (2-3).

The Aztecs hurt themselves with 24 turnovers and shot just 35.8 percent.

USC took a 28-9 lead with 9:17 left in the first half. But the Trojans went cold and San Diego State outscored them 23-10 the rest of the half to trail by six at halftime.
