Women's Volleyball Falls To No.10 BYU

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's volleyball team came up short in each game as 10th-ranked Brigham Young overpowered them, 3-0 (15-11, 15-12, 15-12) at Peterson Gym. SDSU falls to 10-13 overall and 3-6 in the Mountain West Conference, while the Cougars improve to 20-3 overall and 9-1 in league action.

The Aztecs were led by senior outside hitter Jamie Evans with 12 kills. Junior outside hitter Amy Hallquist added her seventh double-double of the season with 10 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore setter Melissa Dickson had 30 assists for the night.

BYU was led by Sunny Tonga with 15 kills and an overall hitting percentage of .419. Anna-Lena Smith helped out with 36 assists and eight digs.

The Aztecs end their four-match homestand tomorrow against the University of Utah. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
