Women's Volleyball Sweeps Air Force

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women?s volleyball team defeated the Air Force Academy, 3-0 (15-9, 15-7, 15-13), to close out the regular season on senior night at Peterson Gym. The Mountain West Conference win improves SDSU's record to 11-17 overall and 4-9 in league play.

The Aztecs were led by senior outside hitter Jamie Evans who had 15 kills and nine digs. Junior outside hitter Amy Hallquist added 11 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore setter Melissa Dickson tallied 41 assists for the night. Senior middle blocker Nicole Curtis, who has missed a majority of the season because of a knee injury, returned in a big way by registering nine kills and five total blocks.

Air Force was led by Brooke Effland who had 10 kills and seven digs. Tharommoy In added 28 assists. The Falcons record now stands at 17-10 overall and 5-8 in MWC.

San Diego State will travel to Provo, Utah to compete in the Mountain West Conference Championships beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Pending late matches, the Aztecs will face either Colorado State or Utah in the first round.
