Aztec Rally Falls Short vs. New Mexico

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit, but fell short to New Mexico, 3-2 (15-11, 15-12, 10-5, 9-15, 15-10) at Peterson Gym on Friday. With the victory, the Lobos swept their two-game series with the Aztecs. SDSU's record now stands at 10-18 overall and 3-10 in the Mountain West Conference.

The Aztecs were led by senior outside hitter Jamie Evans who had 17 kills and 14 digs. Freshman middle blocker Nicole Akporiaye recorded 14 kills and senior Lisa Bostian added 11 kills and 8 digs. Setter Melissa Dickson tallied 52 assists for the night.

The Lobos were led by Micaela Conley with 18 kills and 17 digs. Erika Sansoni added 16 kills and a .345 hitting percentage. New Mexico?s record now stands at 10-20 overall and 5-8 in MWC.

The Aztecs will play their final match of the season, senior night, at 7 p.m., against Air Force Academy.
