The San Diego State Women's rowing team capped off the fall racing season with another first place finish at the San Diego Fall Classic regatta held at Mission Bay.? The Aztecs finished one, two and three and in the women's varsity eight event. ???????
?The varsity 'A' boat won the event with a new collegiate course record 19:51.? They were followed by the 'B' squad who finished just seconds behind with a 20:06 in the 3.7 mile course. The varsity 'C' team completed the sweep with a time of 21:04 for a third place finish.
"It's very impressive to have three varsity eight teams race all fast enough to beat the top eight teams from several other crew programs who competed today.? It is an indication that we are doing something right."? said Aztec head coach Scott Steckel.
SDSU won three of five races this fall, including wins over national powerhouses California and Stanford at Head of the American and Head of the Estuary, respectively.
The Novice Eight also took first place out of a field of 17 crews, racing to a final time of 23 minutes.
