Men's Soccer Falls To #2-Ranked UCLA

San Diego State (4-11, 0-4 MPSF) remained winless in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation after dropping a 2-0 decision to second-ranked UCLA on Sunday in Los Angeles. The Bruins improved to 13-3 overall (6-0 MPSF) as they recorded their 11th straight victory.

After a scoreless first half, UCLA broke through in the 58th minute when Pete Vagenas converted a header from Ryan Futagaki to open the scoring. Defender Ryan Lee added an insurance goal at 79:21, poking in the rebound of a shot by Jimmy Frazelle.

The Bruins outshot SDSU by a 22-8 margin with Aztec goalkeeper Brian Barnes making eight saves on the day.

San Diego state concludes its 1999 home season when it hosts New Mexico on Friday, October 29, at 3:00 p.m. at the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.
