Women's Volleyball Drops A 3-1 Decision to Air Force

SAN DIEGO - Entering last night's Mountain West Conference action, San Diego State, Air Force and Wyoming were tied for fourth place at the half-way point in conference play. Depending on the final of the Wyoming-Utah match, the Aztecs find themselves in fifth place in the Mountain West, after a crushing 3-1 (6-15, 15-11, 2-15, 14-16) defeat to Air Force. SDSU's overall record is now 8-11 and 2-4 in the Mountain West.

SDSU's Nicole Akporiaye, a freshman middle blocker from Tucson, Ariz., registered a career-high 17 kills on 31 attacks and just five errors for the Aztecs. Fellow middle blocker Erin Grady added 11 kills and four block assists in the contest.

Air Force had three players finish the night with double digits in kills, including junior Shaylor Billings from Fallbrook, Calif., who tallied 16 kills to lead Air Force to its 15th win of the season.

San Diego State is in action tonight, facing New Mexico at The Pit in Albuquerque. Match time is set at 7:00 p.m. (MDT).
