SAN DIEGO - UC Irvine (1-2) forward Eric Monterastelli scored three goals on Wednesday afternoon as the Anteaters shut out San Diego State, 4-0, at the ARCO Olympic Training Center. The loss dropped SDSU?s record to 1-2 on the season
Monterastelli?s first goal came at the 30:54 mark on a tap from four yards. One minute later he added his second goal on a header into the left corner. His third goal came on a penalty kick in the 61st minute.
UC Irvine scored their first goal courtesy of an Aztec own goal. An Anteater cross was deflected into goal by an Aztec defender at the 6:28 mark.
Freshman midfielder Jon Paul Roepke and freshman defender Brad Asprey each recorded an assist for the Anteaters.
Sophomore goalkeeper C.J. Cooper had six saves while soph Adam Dietz recorded the Aztecs? lone save of the game late in the second half
