SDSU Men's Golf Takes Fourth at Northwest Classic

The San Diego State men's golf team placed fourth in the 11-team Northwest Classic at the Diamond Woods Golf Course in Monroe, Ore., hosted by Oregon State. The Aztecs shot a team score of 292-290-302-(884) on the par-72 course. Tournament host Oregon State took the team title firing an 862. The Beavers shot ten strokes better than second-place finisher and 16th-ranked UCLA (872). Individually, the Aztecs were led by newcomer Lars Johansson who shot a three-over par 73-71-75-(219) en route to a tenth place finish. Senior Scott Piercy tied for 18th, firing a five-over par 71-75-75-(221), while junior Ryan Donovan, a U.S. Amauter qualifier this past summer, shot 74-74-74-(222) good for a 22nd-place finish. Senior Magnus Carlsson rounded out the scoring with a 74-70-80-(224) .
