Men's Soccer Loses To Maryland-Baltimore County

SAN DIEGO - Maryland-Baltimore County (6-0-0) kept its perfect record intact with a 2-0 win over San Diego State in the final game of the Coors Soccer Classic at UNLV on Sunday. The loss dropped the Aztecs to 2-4 on the season.

After a scoreless first half, the Retrievers got on the board in the 51st minute on a goal by Giuliano Celenza. UMBC doubled its advantage with nine minute left in the game when Ty Engram scored to seal the victory.

Freshman Brian Barnes made his fifth start in goal for SDSU and was called upon to make six saves as UMBC outshot the Aztecs 13-9.

Up next for San Diego State is a trip to Santa Clara where they will face the host Broncos on Thursday (Sept. 23) and the University of San Francisco on Saturday (Sept. 25) at the Bronco Invitational tournament.
