SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State womens basketball team lost a crucial Western Athletic Conference game on Thursday night at Fresno State, 68-55.

The Aztecs (6-19 overall; 3-10 WAC) were unable to find the stroke from the field, converting on only 32.1 percent of their field goal opportunities. The Bulldogs (9-17 overall; 4-9 WAC) capitalized on SDSUs poor shooting and forced the Aztecs to commit a season-high 30 turnovers in the game. Fresno State shot 44.6 percent from the field and outscored SDSU, 38-29 in the second half to seal the win.

Aztec senior point guard Charley Murray led SDSU with 16 points in only 22 minutes of play before she fouled out. The North Bend, Ore. native drained 4-of-8 from three-point range and was the only Aztec to score in double figures. Murrays point total equaled her career best.

The Bulldogs were led by guard Jesse Farias, who scored a game-high 18 points. Farias added four assists, four rebounds and four steals to guide Fresno State to the win. Fresno State forward Jamie McCombs contributed with 13 points and nine rebounds, while center Angel Hines had 10 points and five boards.

SDSU will close out the regular season when it takes on San Jose State at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 27 in San Jose.
