SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State University women's golf team finished its first tournament of the spring season tied for fourth out of 17 teams with a two-round 631. Host and 15th-ranked Pepperdine won the team title at the Coto de Caza Golf Club in Coto de Caza, Calif. with a score of 615.
The top finisher for the Aztecs was freshman Hiroko Fukushima, who shot a 77-75-152 (+6) for a fifth place overall finish. Sophomore Joanne Clingan tied for 22nd place with a 12-over, 158 (81-77) while teammate and fellow sophomore Nikki Stangarone finished tied at 26th with a score of two-round score of 86-73-159 (+13).
The Aztecs will compete in the UCLA Pioneer Classic on February 23-24.
