SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team fell to 0-2 on the year when it lost to Oregon State, 71-67 on Tuesday in Corvallis, Ore.
The Aztecs struggled in the first half, shooting only 29 percent from the field and missing all five of their three-point attempts. The Beavers (1-0) took advantage of that fact and led 33-29 at the half.
SDSU heated up in the second half, as it shot 40 percent from the field and a blistering 57.1 percent from three-point range. However, it would not be enough, as OSU kept the Aztecs at arm's length for the second stanza.
Beaver forward Chassie Wiersma powered OSU to victory, as she recorded a double-double, scoring 16 points while grabbing 12 rebounds and recording two blocked shots.
SDSU was led by senior point guard Charley Murray, who scored a team-high 14 points and dished out four assists. Murray tied a career high by draining four three pointers in the game.
The Aztecs will next travel to Tucson, Ariz. on Monday, November 23 to battle Arizona at 6 p.m.
