The No. 27 San Diego State University women's tennis team (12-5 overall, 4-1 WAC) defeated No.42 Purdue University 7-2 today at the SDSU E. Courts.
The Aztecs won five of six singles matches, three of which were straight set wins. Sarah Donovan, playing at the No. 2 spot defeated Erika Quebe 6-4,6-2. Whitney Wells defeated Lisa Walgenbach at the No. 4 spot 6-3, 6-4 and Laura Aguero, playing the No. 5 spot defeated Missy Wright 6-3, 6-3. The No.38 ranked doubles duo of Maggie Cole/Donovan defeated No. 46 ranked duo of Jennifer Embry/Wright 8-5.
San Diego State will return to action Saturday, March 20 when they host No. 4 University of California-Berkeley at the SDSU E. Courts at 11 a.m.
