No.25 Aztecs Upset No.18 BYU, 5-4

SAN DIEGO -

The No.25 San Diego State University women's tennis team, (8-4 overall, 2-1 Western Athletic Conference), upset Brigham Young University,(2-8 overall), 5-4 Saturday in Provo, UT. The Aztecs pulled off the upset by winning three of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches. Dorota Wozniak defeated BYU's Kim Kelly at the No.3 spot. The No.5 and No.6 spots for the Aztecs, Laura Aguero and Katey Becker, defeated the Cougars Tara Ferguson and Lisel Frestone. In doubles play, the No.1 team of Maggie Cole and Sarah Donovan for SDSU defeated BYU's Kelly and Brooke Leavens. The Aztecs doubles team of Lisa Papi and Whitney Wells defeated Jodi Richardson and Ferguson for the Cougars at the No.2 spot.

The Aztecs look to improve their record to 9-4 overall and 3-1 WAC when they host Tulsa on Tuesday, March 9th at 1:30 p.m.
