SAN DIEGO - The 32nd-ranked San Diego State men's tennis team lost the final game of the regular season, 4-3 to No. 65 UNLV at the East Courts on Saturday.
The Aztecs (13-4 overall; 4-3 Western Athletic Conference) dropped the doubles point, and were not able to recover in singles.
Among the bright spots for the Aztecs were senior Nguey Lay's 6-1, 6-3 win over the Rebels' Damu Bobb. The win marked Lay's ninth consecutive singles victory. SDSU junior Alex Waske, who is ranked 39th in the nation in singles, upset UNLV's Asaf Tishler, who is ranked 31st, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4.
The Aztecs will host the WAC Tournament beginning next Wednesday.
