No. 28 Aztec Men's Tennis Upsets No. 22 Fresno State, 4-3

The No.28 ranked San Diego State men's tennis team upset No. 22 Fresno State, 4-3, at the SDSU East Courts today.

The Aztecs (6-0 overall, 4-0 Western Athletic Conference) handed the Fresno State Bulldogs (3-7 overall, 0-1 WAC) their first loss in WAC play. SDSU's Alex Waske and Adam Webster along with Travis Hasson and Sean Walker won at the first and second doubles spots to win the doubles point in the match. Waske/Webster defeated Peter Luczak and Oliver Le Jeune, 8-3, while Hasson/Walker won 9-8 over David Mullins and Nick Fustar.

In singles action Waske, who is ranked 18th in the nation, continued his winning ways by defeating No. 63 Luczak, 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 1 position. Other wins for the Aztecs included Webster at the No. four spot, who defeated Rob Cheyne, who is ranked 64th in the nation, 7-6, 6-4. Hasson also notched another win to up his overall match record to 10-7 with a 6-2, 7-5 win at the No. 6 position over Kevin Vieira.

The Aztecs will compete individually at the Pacific Coast Doubles Tournament in La Jolla, March 4-7.
