No. 27 Aztec Women Defeat No. 67 Princeton 6-3

SAN DIEGO -

The No. 27 San Diego State women's tennis team (11-5 overall, 4-1 WAC) defeated No. 67 Princeton University, 6-3, today at the SDSU East Courts.

The Aztecs won four of the six singles matches with three coming in straight set wins. Senior Maggie Cole won her fourth straight match, 6-1, 6-2, over Princeton's Blair Farr at the No. 1 spot. Senior Whitney Wells, who is second on the team with 11 wins in dual match action, defeated Gailor Large, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 at the No. 4 position.

In doubles action, the Aztecs took two out of three matches including a close 9-7 victory at No. 2 by Wells and junior Lisa Papi over Olivia Streatfield and Jyotina Vasisht.

San Diego State continues it's homestand with non-conference matches Friday, March 19 against No. 47 Purdue at 2 p.m. and Saturday, March 20 at 11 a.m. versus No. 4 University of California-Berkeley at SDSU East Courts.
